A hump in the bump creating...

I'm about to admit what very few people admit... not every second of my pregnancy was fun. OK I said it, it's out there for the world to see. But let me explain:
I LOVE everything about creating a new life and I think it's one of the coolest things women get to experience in their life. But with an already self-concious mind and a worry-wart brain I couldn't help but feel a bit in the dark at first. I knew nothing about how to feel comfortable in my ever growing skin and was doing all I could to eat healthy, work out as much as possible (when I wasn't sleeping my days away... not depression, human being creating!), and stay stress and frustration free. Not to mention the sex life... which is super important (as funny as that may be) because you need to feel that love and connection you once felt with your love. My body grew and it didn't feel like I looked like a cute pregnant lady, it felt like a fatty lump-kin. It was also hard because I've always been one of those girls that look to other people to say "ok I'd like to look like that, lets get to working out!" and I did the same at the start of this pregnancy. I went on babycenter and looked at other women's pictures of their belly, which needless to say made me feel worse because some people get really round cute bellies fast, and some stay stick thin... neither of which happened to me!
That being said, I searched for help on what to wear that made me feel comfortable and still cute, thus prompting my feeling good!
It's funny to see pictures of me at the start because I feel like I look a little dead. I wasn't 100% happy at my work place and had no friends that were going through the same things, only words of encouragement were getting me through. Goes to show what stress does to the body (mainly my face... so pale) and now I know... stress before money/financial security! I learned the hard way that only I can take control of how I'm feeling, and that only I will look out for my physical, mental, and emotional health and well being.
Here's 17 weeks in December... right before we found out that we're having a baby boy!! Amazing work has been done already!

So I quit my job after Christmas and started the journey of house-wife-ing it up!! I've started to cook, take the bossy boy on nice long walks, and have kept up the cleaning and laundry. It might sound silly but these are things I've wanted to do my whole life. I've always said that I'd like to stay at home with my kids for as long as possible because I want to raise them and be with them... not watching them grow like weeds before my eyes and wake up one day with a 16 year old that wants to move out! HA
I can say with a huge smile on my face that I have never been happier being at home and working on my self and keeping myself happy before all others, of course Wayne and bossy both have their needs too. Here starts the FUN part of my journey!
19 weeks at home for the holidays... clearly my belly is a bit bigger than it actually was (THANKS home cooking and turkey dinners x 3).
20 weeks... just after new years... not the best outfit I've ever worn but you can't judge me now!

Baby baby baby OHH

Yep, I did it. I quoted Justin Beiber on my third post... PLEASE don't stop reading or judge me hardcore for being silly ok?
OK great.
Now onto me finding out I was pregnant!!! BAAHHH
It was September 21st 2011 and Wayne was gone on a work trip, knowing that I hadn't gotten my dear friend t.o.m yet... but not worried cause you know sometime's t.o.m is late right? So it was a Wednesday and I don't remember why but I was super nervous/excited/confused about not getting it yet so I called my mom (cause that's what every girl should do right?) and asked her. She said "well if you're pregnant now, you'll still be pregnant when Wayne gets home. You might as well take a test and put your mind at ease." BEST ADVISE EVER MOM! I took a test the next morning and it said "Pregnant" so I thought about how maybe it was because it was in the morning (don't ask why?) so I did it again that night and it still said pregnant. After shitting my pants a little I called my mom and told her the good news. She of course was ECSTATIC and I told my dad and step-mom Pat and they were excited too. Finally I figured out that I should probably tell Wayne before he gets home just in case... He said "Oh, ok" which is totally the type of thing he would say in a situation like that, which is a reason why I love him so.
Now, to complicate things a little... I had just started a new job at the start of September so that fine September day I had to walk into work and NOT be jumping all over the place and screaming and giggling with excitement. Which sucked. But I did it.

On one very foggy day, the day I found out the biggest news of my life!
 OHH boy!
The note I left for Wayne for when he got home from his trip... and some presents for us too :)
Here is our first viewing of little baby HylariBerry at 11 weeks. Let me tell you, it's the MOST insane and amazing thing you will ever witness... hands down.
Here is 13 weeks. The funny thing is, at this point I felt SO fat and huge and gross because the bump wasn't fully there, but I was starting to gain weight. This is something other pregnant people don't typically tell you: Until you have a legit bump, you feel like a nasty whale. Now I look at this picture and am all like, damn girl you look so great!! I can't wait to see what I look like after...

Let's start at the very beginning...

It's a very good place to start after all! First I want to share that I am currently sitting on a bed with no sheets (thanks to stinky Wayne) smelling the farts of one very stinky bossy... great way to start things off here!
I figured I should start with a story of how everything began... the turn of my life that has given me some of the MOST fun and memorable times thus far. How I met my cohabitational partner Wayne... he likes to call me that instead of house-wife or wife or anything like that haha which I know will change one day. Here we go...

In December 2009 I was currently living in Ottawa in a one bedroom that was $859/month and had decided that it just wasn't what I wanted in life. I had broken up with a yucky boy only 4 months earlier and was making new friends, discovering who I was, starting to love myself, and figuring out what I wanted to do with life. My best friend Allison and I were going out every weekend (sometimes twice or three times in one weekend) to party and live the 20-something life style that Ottawa has to offer. It was our friend and co-worker Ashely's birthday and a week before I was planning on moving home (yes, to live in mom's basement) so we wanted to make the night memorable. My yucky ex had just FINALLY gotten the last of his crap out of the apartment and obviously that wasn't fun to deal with, so Allison called and said "I have a surprise for you, come over to get ready for Ashely's birthday and forget about yucky boys!" Only a few hours later, and  a good cry on my dear friend's shoulder I met him... Wayne was a friend of Allison's for about 3-4 years and she had YET to tell me about him (bitch, I know right? joking) and she said in my ear "Oh here's your surprise". Needless to say that night we had a TON of fun celebrating Ashley's birthday and dancing the night away. Wayne and I got to know each other and partied hard, and the next day we hung out with our fur-children (Bossy and my dog at the time Boomer... they were obviously best friends at first sniff). Wayne and I hung out only 3 times before I had to move home, which was good because we had both agreed that we didn't really want to be dating anyone.
 So classy right?
Group shot! Ashley, Chantel, Myself, Allison, and Wayne
 Yep... it happened.
NEEDLESS to say... a mere three weeks after being in my mom's basement Wayne asked me to come and visit and that if I liked staying with him that I could stay for longer. Having no job and living in my mom's basement I had no reason not to visit so I said YES!
It is now more than two years later and we have lived together ever since that January 9th meeting in Toronto to "visit". We lived on and off with his mom in Stittsville (just outside of Ottawa) and now live in our beautiful condo downtown Ottawa.

Welcome Welcome!

Hello big juicy world!!
This is the first, and let me tell you most confusing, post to my blog!! I'm SO excited to be sharing all the fun things I've been going through with this pregnancy and all of the maternity style tips I've gotten from other amazing women!
First things first, I am not... repeat NOT tech savvy at ALL and have no clue what to do with this blog for layout or anything. I'm hoping that as I go I'll figure it out, as for now I let things be. If anyone has ideas or feedback PLEASE email them to me because I would love some insight on how this whole blogspot thing works!
Second... I am pretty darn far into my pregnancy (35 weeks almost 9 months)... (aka I'd love for this babe to show up ANY day at the end of the month thanks) so I'll be posting all my fun info from past weeks/months within the next couple days and get  you guys all caught up on my life and experiences thus far. THEN we can start the fun stuff about where I'm finding great baby gear deals, my worries (and such things that will make you want to poke your eyes out), my excitement, funny stories, inspirational stories/pictures/junk, and my GOALS! Oh loardie my goals...
